Meade County, in cooperation with the Rapid City Area Metropolitan Planning Organization (RCAMPO), and South Dakota Department of Transportation (SDDOT), has embarked on a study for a potential new east-west corridor between Erickson Ranch Road and 143rd Avenue. The goals of the study include:
-
Gather pertinent information to determine the transportation needs of the study area and plan for the potential future development in the area.
-
Identify up to three build alternatives for a future east-west corridor connection. A no build option will also be analyzed.
-
Summarize findings and recommendations in the corridor study report and present to the study advisory team and the public.
To accomplish these goals, we need your help! We have scheduled the second of three public meetings for Wednesday, July 24th, 2019 at the Summerset Ramada/Stagestop Receptions (7900 Stagestop Road, Summerset, SD 57718) with an open house starting at 6:00 pm and a presentation at 6:15 pm. At this meeting we will present the overall goals of the study, show the conceptual alignment alternatives under consideration, and solicit public input on the purpose and need for the potential future corridor.
Several alignments for the potential future east-west connector have been developed and will be presented at the public meeting. However, please note that no options have yet been fully developed and that we are looking for your input.
